BCA reports record online sales in January 2020

BCA is reporting record levels on online sales during January 2020 with a 23% rise across the board in digital trading volumes compared to January last year.

Online and digital sales improved week by week during January with record numbers sold in BCA Live Online, BCA Buyer app, e-Auction and Bid Now, Buy Now channels.  In total, BCA sold over 36% of all vehicles during January via online and digital channels.

BCA Live Online sales are regularly attracting upwards of 500 buyers to compete with physical lane buyers to drive efficient auctions.  BCA has also seen an increase of over 20% year-on-year in the number of individual digital buyers purchasing vehicles, either through the BCA website or the BCA Buyer app.

The BCA Buyer app is proving a highly successful addition to BCA’s suite of remarketing tools creating a digital journey to support buyers whether attending sales physically or joining remotely.  It generates insight that helps BCA meet the needs of its buyer customers, creating additional buying power by ensuring that buyers never miss the vehicles that they are interested in and helping buyers bid on any vehicle being sold, whatever their location.  More than 50% of BCA’s active buyer base has been using the app since it launched a year ago.

BCA has already announced it has seen record trading in January, with dealer customers reporting positive levels of retail activity that is driving demand in the wholesale sector.
